2010 - BONANZLE CALENDARS: The Latest

2010 - BONANZLE CALENDARS: The Latest
http://www.bonanzle.com/forums/1/topics/80887

Hello! Been a while since I corresponded with everyone in regards to the Bonanzle Calendar Project and I do apologize for that.

To bring you up-to-date, I started a Question and Answer Section

Question?
What is the status of the Calendars?
Answer
Should receive the “promo” copies any day via regular mail.

Question?
When will they be available to purchase?
Answer
When I started this project, there was no guarantee “The Bonanzle Boyz” would approve it. I knew that going in. The next step is to mail Bill, Mark and Tom a “promo” copy and await their decision.

Question?
If approved, how much will the Calendars’ cost?
Answer
$15.00 or Less – including the shipping and handling fees. I’m trying very hard to get the price between $10.00 and/or $12.50 with shipping and handling included. Will create a new post when I have a definite amount.

Question?
If approved, what do you, Nancy – hope to gain from this?
Answer
Started this Calendar Project to promote Bonanzle and their Members and will finish it with the same intent.

Question?
If approved, how does one obtain a copy of these Calendars?
Answer
If approved, I will be asking to have it as a pre-paid basis. Still haven’t won the lottery, so, purchases will go directly to the printing, shipping and handling costs.

Secondly, I hope to raise enough money to cover the following costs:
Bonanzle’s 20% Fee
Bonanzle’s Final Selling/Value Fee
24 Calendar Member’s Pre-Paid Full Year Plus Subscription Fees
Printing Fees
Shipping And Handling Fees

Question?
When will the Calendar Members receive their prepaid Full-Year Plus Subscription?
Answer
January 2010

Question?
Are you going to have any incentive promos?
Answer
YES! Would like it to go as follows:

100th Sale
1 month pre-paid Bonanzle Subscription and Calendar

200th Sale
3 months pre-paid Bonanzle Subscription and Calendar

300th Sale
6 months pre-paid Bonanzle Subscription and Calendar

400th Sale
9 months pre-paid Bonanzle Subscription and Calendar

500th Sale
ONE FULL YEAR Prepaid Bonanzle Subscription, Calendar and the 1st Person to be selected for the cover of the 2011 Bonanzle Calendar Project

Question?
What has taken so long for what seems to be a simple project?
Answer
Great question. I’ve nit-picked everything and second guessed. Why? This would be the First-Ever Issued Bonanzle Calendar and I wish to represent Bonanzle in an appropriate fashion. In addition, there has been some last minute changes as well.

Secondly, my day job limits the hours available to work on the calendar.

Here are the “2010 Bonanzle Calendar Members”. These are the actual photos that were selected for the Calendars

The above graphic is not in the Calendar. Made this to show the faces of the Bonanzle Calendar Members

In conclusion, there are so many Members I wish to thank and I will do so in a later post.

My "Bonanzle" Chuckle

While shopping yesterday, I came across the item to the left. I thought, “WOW – I must have Bonanza on the Brain or something”. If given the time and not worrying about being caught, I would of loved to put an “le” in replacement of the “a” at the end.

Hope it brings a smile to your face, like it did for me. Have a great day everyone! It’s Hartz Bird Feed

Record Breaker: NFL-Pristine Joe Montana RC Sells For $65K!

Record Breaker: Pristine Montana RC Sells for $65K!
By Tracy Hackler of "Beckett"
6/2/2009

Almost a year after it first surfaced last July at the National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago, the only BGS 10 Joe Montana Rookie Card in existence recently sold at auction for the staggering sum of $65,880, according to Modern Marvels Auctions president Dave Amerman.
The Pristine-conditioned 1981 Topps #216 headlined Modern Marvels’ premiere online auction that began in January and officially ended April 25. Given the sheer largess of the winning bid, however, the transaction for the key card wasn’t finalized until just recently.
According to Beckett Media Senior Market Analyst Dan Hitt, the figure is easily the most ever paid for a professionally graded, modern-era football card. In addition, it’s the third highest sale of a single football card ever recorded by Beckett Media, surpassed only by two different sales of an SGC 96 Mint copy of Bronko Nagurski’s 1935 National Chicle card, for $240,000 and $80,000, respectively.
“When the card reached $30,000 the morning of the auction close date, we thought that would be the sale price,” said Amerman, who launched Modern Marvels earlier this year as a way to bring attention to modern high-end trading cards. “Later that afternoon, a bid for $32,000 was submitted and this continued until the card reached its final sale price. We were very pleased with the sale.”
So, too, was Georgia native Sean Storms, the card’s seller who acquired the gem from a friend last December for $25,000.
“I’ve been collecting since I was 9 years old and I’m 34 now,” Storms notes. “This was the greatest transaction I’ve had. It was a tremendous experience. I’m happy for the collector who got it and I feel good that it went for what it did. But as a collector, I feel that the card is worth even more. It’s a beautiful card.”
It’s worth noting that Storms – who by day is the President of Dixieland Waste Services and also works in the solar energy field – is in the process of launching his Storms of American Trading Company on eBay, which will start with more than $1 million in inventory, primarily high-end, high-grade modern sports cards in BGS 10, BGS 9.5 and PSA 10 condition.
Beckett Media first broke the story of the history-making Montana card’s existence last summer and Amerman, as well as the card’s original BGS submitter, have confirmed that it has changed hands privately on at least a few occasions in the 11 months since.
“Clearly, the condition of the card and the BGS 10 grade associated ultimately attributed to the final sale price,” Amerman admits. “The facts are that this is the only one of this grade and perhaps the finest known example available in the world.”
